Step 1
Pick a habit you already keep
Challenges attach to a habit, not a goal. Start one from the habit's Streak card, or from the Challenges card on your Today screen.
Challenges
Pick a habit you already keep, pick a number of days in a row, and go for it. Completing the habit is the check-in — and a missed day restarts the run without ending the challenge. Your first challenge is free.

The idea
An ordinary streak just counts upwards forever, and there is no moment where you have done it. A challenge gives the same habit a target — thirty days, eight weeks, whatever you pick — so there is something to finish.
A streak
Counts upwards for as long as you keep going. There is no target, so there is no finish — only a number you are afraid to lose.
A challenge
Thirty days in a row, and then you are done. A finish line you picked, on a habit you already keep, with your best attempt kept on the record.
On your Today screen
Challenges sit on Today next to anything you are quitting, each with where it stands right now — Day 12 of 30, Week 3 of 8 — so the first thing you see is how close you are.

How it works
Step 1
Challenges attach to a habit, not a goal. Start one from the habit's Streak card, or from the Challenges card on your Today screen.
Step 2
How many days in a row? Choose a preset or type your own. Habits scheduled a few days a week count in weeks instead.
Step 3
There is nothing extra to log. Completing the habit is the check-in, and the count moves on its own.
Step 4
The habit row carries a 12/30 badge, the Streak card shows the run and your best, and Today lists every challenge you have going.
Step 5
Reach the target and it says so, with a Finish button. End one early and your streak stays — only the challenge stops.
At a glance
Any habit with a challenge running carries its progress next to the streak flame — 12/30, 7/7, 3/8 wk. Tick the habit off and both move.

Miss a day
This is the part most streak features get wrong. Break a thirty-day run on day nineteen and you have not lost the challenge — you are on day one of a fresh attempt, with nineteen still on the board as your best.
The count picks up again from the break. Nothing is deleted and nothing is taken away.
The longest run you managed stays on the Streak card, so there is always a number to beat.
It runs until you finish it or end it. Ending one early keeps the habit and its streak untouched.
It is the same idea as Momentum, the score that dips instead of resetting: a bad day should cost you a day, not the whole thing.
The finish
Hit the number and the bar fills, the card says so, and a Finish button appears. Every challenge you have run stays under See past challenges — the ones you completed and the ones you ended early.

You do not need to pay to try one. The free plan runs 1 challenge at a time with nothing held back — the full count, the streak strip and the history. Premium lifts the limit, so you can challenge several habits at once. See pricing.
